In Winter 2014, 11 community organizers from Seattle travelled to China and Hong Kong, Mexico, and the Philippines. We want to share about our experiences building with the peoples movements abroad in the interest of International Solidarity and Local Movement Building!

Expect:
-Multimedia presentations
-Breakout sessions focusing on specific issues (ex: indigenous movements)
-Street food vendors!
-Cultural performances
-Translation (spanish, cantonese & more)
-Child care

It is critical to learn about the powerful movements growing across the world and bring home those lessons to strengthen our political work here in the heart of the US empire. Workers, Indigenous People, Women, and Students are rising up to both demand and create a better world. New strategies and political ideas are emerging to combat state repression, privatization, militarization, and exploitation.

Our main goal in telling these stories of international movements is to build concrete local strategy to link struggles here in the Pacific Northwest. We will strategize on how to create strong unity among the left in Seattle.
